Understanding Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is a non-invasive treatment for patients who suffer from neck and back problems. A decompression treatment slowly and gently lengthens or releases pressure in the spine through repetitive movements by a customized medical device. The table pulls and releases, creating a pressure change within the intervertebral disc, surrounding soft tissue, and joints.

This pressure change allows the disc bulges or herniations and nutrients to be pulled back into the disc. Rehydration of the disc and surrounding tissues creates a physiological change which assists the body’s natural healing process.

Each patient is unique, and results vary. A complete individualized program is a vital part of Spinal Decompression that targets the disc bulges or herniations in order to get them to their intended state. This program includes a thorough assessment of the patient’s condition, followed by a tailored treatment plan designed to address their specific needs.

The treatment plan may incorporate various therapies to enhance the effectiveness of spinal decompression. These therapies may include deep tissue laser therapy, various types of electric stimulation, chiropractic treatment, and assisted stretching.

Our goal is to not only help heal the disc but also enhance muscular control and support of the back and neck. By strengthening the muscles surrounding the spine, we aim to provide better stability and reduce the likelihood of future injuries. This comprehensive approach ensures that each patient receives the best possible care and achieves optimal results.

How Long Does Treatment Last?

How Long Does Treatment Last?

The average duration for Spinal Decompression to yield effective and long-lasting results is typically between 20 to 24 sessions. Research suggests that continued improvement is seen up to four years following the decompression treatment program.

Regular home exercise and periodic visits to our office will help in maintaining your spinal health and reduce the probability of recurrence.

What Do Patients Say About Spinal Decompression?

"I had pain in my tail, all the way down to my leg. After 3 or 4 weeks of treatment with this new table, I started to feel good again! I really started feeling back to my normal self."

"The pain I had was so unbelievable. It was like an alarm clock and would hit me at 3 in the morning. I tried physical therapy, pain pills, spinal injections, but nothing worked. Trying this technique though, was incredibly relaxing; there was no pain at all. I'm able to play golf again and travel! Even working outside, I don't feel any pain. I feel better and better!"
